Citrini analyst: Morgan Stanley warns that the memory crisis triggered by AI will continue to worsen; storage prices may rise more than 25% in a single quarter

PANews July 21日消息, analyst Jukan at Citrini, citing Morgan Stanley analyst Joseph Moore, said that the ongoing worsening of the memory shortage in the data center sector shows no sign of relief in market supply pressure, and the tightness of memory supply remains higher than expected. Currently, compared with the expected price levels in the second quarter of 2026 for memory products of the same specifications, prices in the third quarter have risen by at least 25%, exceeding prior forecasts by Morgan Stanley and third-party institutions.

The memory supply tightness may continue to intensify in 2027 and 2028. The currently available memory resources in the market cannot meet the rapidly growing demand from the artificial intelligence industry, and in the short term, this situation is unlikely to change. AI is consuming a large amount of DRAM capacity, which reduces the memory resources available to other industries; production of consumer electronics such as PCs and smartphones has been affected.
