PANews, July 20—According to Bloomberg, as the linkage between the Korean stock market and U.S. tech stocks continues to strengthen, global fund managers are increasingly viewing the Korean market as a leading indicator for gauging AI investment sentiment. Ahead of the market open, monitoring the price movements of Korean tech stocks such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix has become a new industry norm. The 60-day correlation coefficient between the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) and the Nasdaq 100 has risen to 0.46, approaching the highest level in the past two years—about three times the 0.16 average over the past five years. In particular, during market downturns, the sensitivity of the Nasdaq to the movement of Korean stocks has increased significantly, and the relevant indicators rose to the highest level since 1990 on the 7th of this month.
