The U.S.-listed mining company and crypto asset reserve firm Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) has once again drawn attention for its capital deployment in the market. On July 20, 2026, Taipei time, Bitmine Chairman Thomas “Tom” Lee said in a statement that the company repurchased about 5.5 million shares of common stock last week, with an average repurchase price of $15.6156.

Tom Lee emphasized that the action is intended to further increase shareholder value, and the funding source for this repurchase is the company’s previously approved stock repurchase plan of up to $4 billion.

Weekly DCA into ETH, recently slowed down due to stock buybacks

While actively carrying out stock buybacks, Bitmine has not stopped accumulating its cryptocurrency assets. According to the latest announcement, Bitmine increased its holdings again by 7,430 Ether (ETH) last week.

In response, Tom Lee explained in the report that since the company officially launched its “Ethereum treasury (ETH treasury)” strategy on June 30, 2025, the team has been continuously buying ETH almost every week. However, he also admitted that the purchase pace has indeed slowed down recently, mainly to prioritize resources for the above stock repurchase activities.

Total assets of $11.5 billion, grabbing 4.8% of ETH worldwide

Based on official disclosures, Bitmine’s current total ETH holdings have reached an astonishing 5.77468 million (as of July 19), or about 4.8% of ETH’s total supply (120.7 million). It has achieved 96% of its ultimate goal of “5% alchemy.” This not only keeps it firmly in the position of the world’s largest Ethereum reserve company, but also makes it the world’s second-largest corporate crypto reserve entity (only behind Strategy Inc., which holds BTC).

In addition to its massive ETH position, the company’s total holdings (including $385 million in cash and tradable securities, as well as Eightco shares valued at $58 million) have reached $11.5 billion. Furthermore, Bitmine is actively involved in the Ethereum on-chain ecosystem. Through its platform MAVAN, it has staked more than 4.91 million ETH, which is estimated to generate annualized staking rewards of about $247 million for the company.
