Would you cancel a wedding because of a single sentence?

Cat Brother recently heard about a real incident from a friend.
That day, he and his fiancée drove past a road with standing water.
A delivery rider on a bicycle skidded and fell—himself and the bike—sending meal boxes flying everywhere!
He was about to get out to help, but his fiancée grabbed his hand and said, “Don’t go. You’ll get all dirty! For people doing this kind of job, isn’t falling a pretty normal thing?”
And she furrowed her brow.
He still insisted on getting out. At that time, they happened to be stuck in traffic.
He helped the delivery rider get the bike upright and picked up the meal boxes that could still be used.
When he got back into the car, his fiancée didn’t ask whether he’d gotten wet.
She just frowned and said:
“Remember to wipe the seat clean.”
Later, they went their separate ways, and there was no wedding.
At one point, we were eating. After I heard him tell it, I couldn’t help asking:
“Just because of this?”
He was silent for a while, then said:
“It wasn’t because she didn’t help.
It was that moment—I suddenly thought…
What if the person who falls later is me? Or what if I run into trouble?
What if it’s my parents?
What about our child?

So in that moment, he suddenly felt that
the way they looked at the world seemed like it wasn’t quite the same.
