Will BTC and ETH drop sharply after the World Cup ends?

1. Short-term trend
After the World Cup concludes, over the next 1–2 weeks there may be a small pullback: funds that had been concentrated on gambling and “sports event” themes take profit and exit, and the market’s buy-side demand is temporarily insufficient. Historically, after the tournament ends, BTC typically falls by 5%–15%.

2. Why there won’t be a one-way crash
The medium- to long-term outlook is driven by Federal Reserve policy, the BTC halving cycle, and ETF capital. Long-term institutions’ holdings remain stable, and long-haul institutions’ positions are steady; the emotional impact from the World Cup alone cannot change the overall trend. Only if multiple negative factors overlap—tightening regulation, further US rate hikes, and large-scale redemptions—would a deep crash occur.

3. Interlinked differences
ETH is more volatile than BTC. If BTC holds key support, ETH’s pullback room is limited. After the event, small-cap altcoins tied to the sports theme are especially prone to plunging—do not try to bottom-fish.

4. Trading reference
The heaviest sell pressure is in the first 3 days after the event. High-leverage futures carry extremely high risk. Stay on the sidelines for two weeks and wait for capital to return before judging the next trend. #世界杯
