PANews July 17, according to The Block, the Ethereum scaling project MegaETH announced the termination of its flagship incubation program, Mega Mafia, which ran for two years with two batches. Core team member Shuyao Kong said that although the project successfully incubated about 20 teams and raised a total of about $80 million, “most successful applications are no longer built on MegaETH” — the flagship project GTE has decided to build its own chain, Noise chose to go live on Base, HelloTrade has switched to Monad, Avon and Valhalla have been shut down, and Cap has adopted a multi-chain strategy. MegaETH took a model of not holding equity and not participating in governance, but Kong admitted this approach did not deliver long-term retention for the project. In the future, MegaETH will shift to supporting “first-party applications,” directly serving end users.
