Pakistan's soft drink industry looked untouchable for decades.

Coca-Cola and Pepsi dominated the shelves, leaving little room for anyone else.
Then local brands rewrote the rules.
Cola Next, Pakola, and Gourmet Cola started selling 1L bottles for Rs. 100–120, while the multinational brands were priced at Rs. 180–200.
Consumers didn't need a different drink. They needed a better deal.
The result? The long-standing duopoly began to crack, and local brands rapidly gained market share.
The takeaway for every entrepreneur and investor:
Winning isn't always about building a superior product.
Sometimes, it's about delivering similar value at a much lower price—and making sure it's available everywhere.
Before investing in any industry, ask one simple question:
Who is offering nearly the same value for half the price?
