I just casually looked through an on-chain data platform and saw a bunch of tags and protocol rankings, and I suddenly felt a bit dazed. Lately I keep hearing people say that data tools can’t be trusted either—things like lag, being misled, and so on. Thinking back, that actually makes sense. I guess a lot of the so-called “information” we see is just someone’s emotions they want you to see.

Last week I almost jumped into a certain layer-2 protocol. I was itching to do it, but at the last step I still stopped. I asked myself: did I really understand its ecosystem, or was I just being pushed along by the group chat’s anxiety of “buy now or you’ll be late”? The answer was the latter. So forget it—let’s talk in two days. Missing out won’t be a big deal anyway.

In the end, data in blockchain is also a story. Whether you believe it or not is up to you. Anyway, I’ve become more and more calm about it—I just wait quietly before chasing rallies, and I end up losing a lot less.
