The World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization will focus on three areas of work in the future

PANews July 19, according to Xinhua News Agency, the Founding Agreement of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization was signed in Shanghai by representatives from 29 countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe, marking phased progress in the organization’s setup. China will work to ensure the organization starts operating as soon as possible. Future work will focus on: first, strengthening international cooperation on AI capacity building through policy exchanges, technical cooperation, personnel training, and joint research, and improving the ability of developing countries to access and use relevant technologies and services; second, building a supply-and-demand matching platform to promote the integration and complementarity of countries’ strengths and resources, intensifying science and technology and industrial cooperation around the “Artificial Intelligence+” initiative, and encouraging co-building of an open-source ecosystem; third, supporting the Global Digital Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals under the UN framework, and promoting the establishment of a fair and reasonable global AI governance system. The agreement also clarifies the organization’s purpose, principles, functions, decision-making procedures, and other items, laying the legal foundation for formal operation.
