PANews, July 14—According to Bloomberg, DeepSeek has launched plans for an IPO in mainland China, with the earliest filing expected this year and a target listing in 2027. The company is working with accounting firms to complete its financial reports by December this year to be ready for the filing. DeepSeek is also planning a new round of private placement after the previous round of about $7 billion in financing, aiming to raise at least 4800 billion yuan (about $71 billion). The target is to raise no less than 100 billion yuan in new funds, and the exact scale will depend on investor participation, or potentially be expanded by several times. Existing shareholders include Tencent, CATL, and the National AI Industry Investment Fund, among others. Founder Liang Wenfeng said the company will prioritize funding for cutting-edge AI research and open-source models, pursuing a long-term goal of artificial general intelligence.
