S&P Global downgraded Oracle's $ORCL credit rating to BBB-, citing underestimation of its spending on artificial intelligence investments. This level is just one step above "junk" in investment jargon.

Oracle is the largest non-financial debtor in the Corporate Bond Index, with debt accumulation exceeding $130 billion.
The company's equity expenditures in 2026 are projected to be $55.6 billion, resulting in a negative free cash flow of $23.7 billion. For fiscal year 2027, new debt and equity issuances totaling $40 billion are planned.
