While flipping through node data late at night, I suddenly wondered: are the “on-chain actions” you usually look at truly real-time? The truth is, there’s a synchronization delay with most RPC nodes—especially when the network is congested or when there’s a sudden surge in new transaction volume. The hash you see for a “just-bought” trade may be several seconds—or even more—off from the actual time the block is packaged. Put simply: you think you’re seeing the first-hand feed, but you’re really watching a replay. And if your strategy’s entry window is already tight, that timing gap is enough to turn you from “jumping in with everyone” into “helping someone else offload (their bags).”

That recent back-and-forth over NFT royalties and secondary liquidity is a similar story too. By the time everyone thinks the royalties are “over” and that trading volume can still carry things, when it actually comes time to play out, the data has already changed. Anyway, when I’m judging turning points now, I’ll deliberately wait an extra couple of heartbeats—first factor in the node-side lag. I’d rather look awkward in how I act than get caught in that wave where a delayed signal makes you turn around. You get what I mean?
