I just checked my gas records—yesterday a DeFi protocol almost liquidated me because the oracle’s price update was delayed. To be honest, before that I thought an oracle delay is just a few seconds slower—how much difference could it make? Turns out I only knew after it actually happened. That price gap in those few seconds was enough to blow up my margin right away.

When the cross-chain bridge incident happened these days, a lot of people were waiting for confirmation, afraid that the quote might be wrong too. I’m not sure how reliable this “wait-for-confirmation” consensus is, but anyway I’d rather wait through a few more rounds of blocks than chase that little bit of slippage. In the end, safety of the principal comes first—just take the yield slowly.
