Mars Finance News: Zhuang Dan, Executive Director and President of Changfei Optic Fiber, said at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference “Xizhi Technology · AI Infrastructure New Paradigm Forum Driven by Dual Wheels of Optical Computing and Optical Interconnection” that global fiber optic market demand has shifted from being driven by telecommunications to being driven by intelligent computing centers. He expects that by 2030, the global FTTx (fiber-optic communication network) annual compound growth rate will be 2.47%, while the intelligent computing center annual compound growth rate will reach 20.74%. “Polarization-maintaining fiber, thanks to its outstanding stability, is becoming the best connection medium in the CPO silicon photonics era,” Zhuang Dan said. At the same time, he predicted that driven by next-generation high-performance CPUs and silicon photonics optical components, demand for polarization-maintaining fiber (growth) in the next 1–2 years will be 10x or even 20x.
