U.S. Senator Warren demands that Trump disclose his crypto holdings within a week, saying full information is needed before legislation is passed

Mars Finance news, citing Bitcoin News, that U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren has asked President Trump to voluntarily disclose his cryptocurrency income and holdings from January 1 to July 15, and to complete the disclosure by July 23. In a letter dated July 16, the senior member of the Senate Banking Committee said that Congress cannot fairly debate cryptocurrency legislation when the president’s financial exposure to the industry has been disclosed only in part. The request comes as the Senate considers the CLARITY Act, and Warren believes lawmakers need an up-to-date account of their crypto interests before moving forward with legislation that could directly affect the value of Trump’s holdings. Warren said her concern is not only that the president holds digital assets, but that the legislation being considered by Congress may substantially benefit enterprises and investments associated with the president, with those interests disclosed only in part.
