Can’t sleep in the middle of the night, so I got up and cleared some previously used protocol authorizations in my wallet. Honestly, unlimited smart contract authorizations are about as serious as leaving the window unlocked when you’re sleeping—you think it’s fine, but someone really could crawl in through the opening.

A steadier strategy is actually just one extra step: revoke permissions right after you’re done using them. Don’t complain it’s a hassle—besides, I check once before I go to sleep, and that makes me feel at ease. For example, even if the returns from stablecoin mining are thin, they’re still better than wiping out everything.

Lately I’ve been seeing miners arguing about unfair MEV income—having retail users get squeezed and taking nasty slippage is also rough. We can’t control the orderers, but we can control the little permissions in our own hands. At least if you want to sleep soundly, start by trimming your authorizations.
