I just stared at mainnet gas for half an hour, and it went up again. Honestly, it’s really hard for ordinary people to make the right choice right now—mainnet gets jammed at the slightest thing, and even clicking an interaction makes you wince at the fees. But once you switch to Layer2, the bridging experience always feels like it’s missing something: it’s slow and clunky, and sometimes you even worry about getting flagged by anti-sybil.

The recent airdrop season is back again. The task platform’s anti-sybil setup feels like a cat-and-mouse game, and the points-based system is so cutthroat it makes you want to gag. Chasing missions feels like going to work and clocking in. I’m just not trying to get caught up in this wave of hype—I feel like it’s all about who has the better scripts. In the long run, for me this isn’t something that happens week to week or month to month. If I really had to put it in a time frame, it might be quarterly—or, more accurately, it’s driven by instinct. When I see gas dropping unusually low and the packing pace clearly slowing down, that’s when I feel like I should move. Most of the time I just keep a small position on-chain and can’t be bothered to fuss around—at least I don’t have to wake up in the middle of the night worrying about being targeted by anti-sybil.
