I just counted my wallet setup, and it feels pretty solid. To be honest, lately the testnet incentives and points expectations have been getting a lot of hype, and there’s all sorts of speculation about whether the mainnet will issue tokens or not—but when it comes to my own assets, hardware wallets plus a cold wallet are still the most reliable.

Personally, I just use a standard cold wallet. I haven’t set up multisig or social recovery. My holdings aren’t that large, so some of those features are a bit overkill. But if your assets really reach a certain level, multisig is actually more resilient than a single cold wallet—if a physical backup goes missing, teammates can still step in and save you. Social recovery is better suited for beginners, with a lower barrier to entry.

In the end, it all depends on what you’re optimizing for. What I’m most afraid of isn’t losing money—it’s the possibility that one day I won’t even be able to figure out how much I’ve put away, and with everything so messy, it would be hard to sell everything or wrap up my holdings even if I wanted to.
