I just saw news about a cross-chain bridge being hacked, and my first reaction was, “Oh no, please don’t tell me this has anything to do with me”… Then I remembered a few days ago when oracle pricing was abnormal—back then, a lot of people were in the group chat shouting, “Wait for confirmation! Wait for confirmation!” Honestly, in situations like this, it’s kind of a relief that I’m a lazy person—I can’t be bothered to chase hot topics. To put it plainly, with on-chain rotation happening so fast now, today it’s a cross-chain bridge, tomorrow it’s modular, and the day after that it’s the privacy track. Every new protocol that comes out looks like sweet nectar, but rushing to it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get enough—you might even step into a trap. My strategy right now is: first, read through the audit reports and see whether the code explicitly leaves a backdoor, and then wait a couple of days to observe whether anyone is actually using it. After all, running fast isn’t as good as living long. Like a hummingbird, even if you smell the sweet nectar, you still have to confirm whether it’s poison first.
