I just checked the mempool, and it’s been clogged into one big mess. Once transactions get broadcast, it’s like they’ve been poured into a huge pot—miners look at whose tip is higher and grab that first. In any case, I usually set gas to a medium level, go do something else, and come back to check the result—sometimes it really can get stuck for half a day, especially when news of a tax-bump sweep for certain regions is in the air; everyone’s expectations get thrown off, and when deposits and withdrawals are in a hurry, the on-chain queue naturally piles up.

To put it simply, on-chain congestion is a small-scale game of strategy—being in a rush doesn’t help. I’m used to taking screenshots to save the gas price and the queue situation at the time. A while later, when I dig them back out, it’s actually pretty interesting—like time capsules.
