It’s cooled down again today. I looked at a few projects that people are re-staking—honestly, it’s a bit dizzying. Compounded returns do look great, but the more you wrap it, the more layers you add. There are several middle layers, and I actually feel like the risks compound too. In the past, there was one time I chased high yields and routed through seven or eight protocols on a single chain on-chain; in the end, I almost couldn’t get even my principal back. Now when I see that “shared security” narrative, my first reaction is: security belongs to whom, exactly? Anyway, I haven’t been chasing explanations lately—I just follow along. If I end up stepping into a trap, it’s part of the tuition fee list for learning. Seeing people discuss “nesting” security on GitHub, I think that’s pretty accurate too—don’t treat illusions as returns.
