Just moved a bit of money on Gate over to an L2, and then I saw that gas and sneezed 😤

Honestly, I’ve been thinking—when you’re queued up waiting for your transaction, some big player jumps the line, gets into the block first, and in the end the gas you pay costs more than his. For pure retail users, this whole “ordering is justice” thing is basically an invisible cost. A lot of the “fair ordering” that these new chains hype up is, in one way or another, trying to solve the MEV jump-the-line problem, but in practice it’s still mind-boggling.

Recently, several people asked me which testnet has incentives, and which rumor about “mainnet token issuance” they should go chase. I’m not that I don’t like to browse either, but “I treat simplicity as a trap”—some logic looks smooth on the surface, and once you step in, you find the threshold for jumping the line is ridiculously high.

For now, that’s all—back to picking at my gas 😂
