BlockBeats news: On July 18, according to WSJ, sources said SpaceX (SPCX.O) is in talks with the U.S. Department of Defense, hoping to provide the agency with computing power worth several billion dollars to run artificial intelligence models, further strengthening cooperation between Musk’s company and the U.S. Department of Defense. These negotiations are still ongoing, but they may ultimately fall apart.

People familiar with the plan said SpaceX has signed similar agreements with Anthropic and Google in recent months and is now planning to significantly expand its cloud computing business. According to insiders, over the past few weeks, SpaceX employees have discussed plans to provide computing power to AI customers at lower prices, allowing it to compete more directly with existing providers such as CoreWeave.
