I’ve seen a bunch of people saying that AI agents have started to chase large transfers on-chain—once there’s any movement, they rush into it. Honestly, I sometimes envy that kind of mechanical decisiveness: no need to think too much, just follow. But look at those transfers that get interpreted as “smart money”—a lot of them are actually big holders washing their positions or switching wallets. Machines can’t tell whether it’s a real move or just a smoke screen. Either way, the program runs at lightning speed—while people are still hesitating, it already charges in and takes a post.
I personally really like making emotion heatmaps, so I’m especially sensitive to this. AI can capture data, but those quiet, small on-chain actions—like a contract address suddenly going inactive for a long time, and then quietly changing a parameter—actually need a human brain to infer the “why.” Machines understand patterns but can’t read narratives. And narrative is the part I trust. Sometimes, sure, I can envy it—but the fallback step still requires a human to hesitate a bit, even if the hesitation is wrong.
