Just finished feeding the cat, and this guy is back on my keyboard again… By the way, I’ve now seen a third time people complain that on-chain data is “delayed” or “fake.” It’s not that the tools don’t work—it’s that the layer of nodes/RPC/indexing itself has a bit of “time difference.” For example, say your cat wants to steal fish. You see it get up, but by the time it walks over, the fish has already been knocked off the table. On-chain data may show the transaction, but if you’re not connected to the fastest node, or if the indexer is still queued, what you see as “just happened” could already be seconds—or even minutes—old.
Lately, a lot of people have been talking about how on-chain labels get manipulated. It’s the same idea. Labels are based on indexing logic—if indexing is slow or someone has already injected fake information early, the “whale address” you see might just be an empty shell. At this point, whenever I look at on-chain data, I’ve gotten used to first scanning the timestamp, then pairing it with emotional indicators to make random guesses—in the end, I still have to cool down with a cat picture (lol). Don’t put too much faith in “real-time.” As long as it feels comfortable.
