Zhuochuang Information: With corrugated and containerboard paper costs staying high, large-scale paper mills still plan to raise prices

In recent times, the domestic waste yellow cardboard market price has continued its upward trend. As of July 15, the average daily price of domestic AA-grade corrugated paper (120g) is 3,263.75 yuan per ton, up 0.19% month-on-month. The average price of box board is 3,870.80 yuan per ton, up 0.05% month-on-month. At present, paper mills of a certain scale have already issued plans to raise prices in the second half of the month to maintain the market’s upward pricing sentiment. In recent days, domestic rainy weather has continued across a wide area, placing some constraints on waste paper supply; prices remain at high levels. On the cost side, support for the bottom of both corrugated and box board paper remains strong. Downstream packaging mills generally have fewer orders; mills mainly maintain just-need procurement of base paper, and trading activity in the market has slowed somewhat. It is expected that in the short term, the corrugated and box board paper markets still have potential for further upward adjustments, but due to weaker demand, the pace of price increases may slow.
