Singapore’s Temasek plans to increase its AI investment

Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund Temasek released its annual report on the 8th, saying it will increase investment in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector over the next five years, planning to raise AI investment’s share from the current 6% to 15%. At a briefing session, Temasek chief executive Dilhan Tan, also chairman of Temasek, said Temasek will focus on five key areas: energy and data centers, semiconductors, cloud services providers, foundational models, AI applications and software infrastructure. He said the AI application sector “has strong momentum”; in addition to planning to put 15% of capital into the AI sector, the remaining 85% of Temasek’s investment portfolio must also focus on AI applications to enhance competitiveness. However, Temasek did not disclose which AI companies it holds shares in, or how that would affect its investment performance. (Xinhua News Agency)
