ppl look down on “slutty” women but what exactly is a slut? is it a description of behavior or a punishment for refusing to behave as expected?

who decided where desire becomes disgrace and why is that line drawn so differently for men and women?
is promiscuity immoral in itself or does it merely violate an unwritten social contract about who is allowed to *want* ?!?
are we judging character or reacting to the discomfort of female autonomy?
if 2 people make the same choices and only 1 is shamed, what is really being condemned?
perhaps the word *slut* reveals less about the woman it is aimed at than about the culture that needs the category to exist in the first place
