The Speaker of the US House plans to hold a vote next week on a temporary spending bill.

Golden Finance reported that on July 16, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson said he plans to submit next week a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government for a vote in the House, kicking off the funding battle ahead of the September 30 final deadline. On Thursday morning in New York, Johnson (Republican, Louisiana) said when discussing the continuing resolution, “This is the current plan.” Congress needs to fund the government before the end of the fiscal year, otherwise it will fall into another government shutdown ahead of the midterm elections in mid-November.
