Argentina has more championship DNA—the experience of the defending champions decides the outcome
The World Cup final has never been only about strength; it also tests experience and mindset. Although Spain’s performance in this World Cup has been outstanding, when it comes to the final match, I still believe more that Argentina can complete their title defense. The most valuable asset of a championship team is knowing how to win the hardest games.
Along the way, Argentina has faced multiple tough matches. Whether they were trailing or being pegged back, they kept their composure throughout, showing exceptional resilience. The team has remained world-class in defensive organization, set-piece tactics, and counterattack efficiency. As long as they seize one chance, it’s enough to change the course of the match.
Spain’s biggest advantage is possession, but against Argentina’s mature and stable defensive system, possession-based play may not translate into goals so easily. Argentina is good at deliberately conceding ball control, then waiting for the opponent to press forward and using rapid counterattacks to create danger—this has been a tactic that has worked well for them repeatedly in past knockout matches.
I predict the first half will end 0:0, and in the second half, Argentina will score first by converting a quick counterattack. Spain will then equalize. In the final stage of the match, Argentina will clinch the winner through a set piece and ultimately defeat Spain 2:1, successfully defending the World Cup title. Experience and championship temperament may be the key factors in determining who takes the crown. #夏日创作营
