Federal Reserve’s Logan: Interest rates should be raised to combat inflation

Odaily Planet Daily reports: Fed official Logan said the Federal Reserve should raise interest rates to address persistently high inflation. June inflation data show price increases are slowing, but that is not enough to make her confident that inflation has returned to the path toward the Fed’s 2% target. Logan said the June CPI data indicate inflation could return to the target level, with a more optimistic outlook, but the path remains very fragile. She currently believes that a modest rate increase will help better balance the outlook and risks.
