Samsung’s on-device model is filed through an AI service; Baidu Intelligent Cloud for partners

On July 15, the Cyberspace Administration Office released备案 information for seven newly added on-device generative AI services for mobile terminals, with Samsung’s “Galaxy AI” also included. An insider told the 科创板日报 that Baidu Intelligent Cloud is an important cooperation partner for Samsung’s Galaxy AI. Since January 2024, Chinese Samsung and Baidu Intelligent Cloud have officially formed an AI ecosystem strategic cooperation partner relationship. The ERNIE foundation model has deeply empowered Galaxy AI, providing Samsung flagship phones with multiple AI features such as “circle to search” (即圈即搜) and a note assistant. Samsung’s Bixby voice assistant has also integrated large-model capabilities including Baidu document parsing and AI search. At present, the collaboration has covered multiple flagship devices such as the Galaxy S24 through S26. This filing approval further reinforces the compliance foundation for Samsung Galaxy AI’s lawful operations in the Chinese market. (科创板日报)
