Golden Finance reported that on July 17, Hasabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, proposed establishing an international independent body to conduct unified testing and review before cutting-edge AI model releases. He also plans to travel to Washington next week to discuss related proposals with the U.S. government. Hasabis said that the advanced network attack capabilities of the Mythos model from Anthropic highlight the need to strengthen AI security oversight. The proposal calls for independent experts to handle the review, top AI companies to provide funding, the model to undergo testing for up to 30 days, and, if necessary, to coordinate with the industry to slow down the development of frontier models. OpenAI CEO Altman and Musk have publicly stated their support.
