CoinShares Bitcoin Mining ETF: Contract AI revenue supports buying

Abstract generation in progress
CoinWelt news reports that CoinShares’ Bitcoin mining ETF believes that contract AI revenue supports buying (NASDAQ: WGMI). The market generally believes that this year Bitcoin miners are shifting to become AI infrastructure companies—this claim is correct, but it no longer has any clear advantage at present. WGMI’s name is pretty funny, but the logic that miners are pivoting to AI infrastructure was something that traders could hype last year, and now there are too many similar narratives in the market, so the marginal returns are diminishing.

From Bitcoin miners to a shift toward AI data centers sounds impressive, but how much real money is actually behind the contracts that get signed? WGMI’s ETF has already risen a lot before, and the pullback now is totally normal. It’s advisable to wait until the quarterly data is released before deciding.

The advantages for miners doing AI really aren’t as clear as before anymore—power costs and chip supply are both issues. However, as long as AI demand is still there, compute power is hard currency, so I’m bullish on the few companies with long-term contracts. Personally, I think WGMI can be set up for regular DCA—don’t go all-in.

Yeah, it’s Seeking Alpha’s classic disclaimer again—everyone knows.

The author has no positions, yet still writes this in such detail—I can only say it’s with a good conscience. He said the advantages are no longer there, but I think this is an opportunity to get in; when others are panicking, I’ll pick up some chips.
