Abstract generation in progress
Multicoin Capital invested $1.75 million in the Hyperliquid-based Asian trading platform Trasia, becoming its sole investor in the seed round. This is Multicoin’s first investment in a Hyperliquid ecosystem project. Trasia was co-founded by Multicoin’s former partner and Mable Jiang, the former Chief Revenue Officer at Find Satoshi Lab, along with Edison Chen. It mainly targets Asian traders, has launched a bilingual web platform in Chinese and English, plans to roll out a mobile app in August, and will launch its own perpetual contracts via HIP-3 later this year. In the initial phase, it will focus on Asian AI infrastructure and near-listed companies. (The Block)

$1.75 million seed round, investing in only one company—looks like Multicoin has a lot of confidence in Hyperliquid’s architecture and Trasia’s execution capabilities. However, perpetual contract competition is fierce; focusing early on AI infrastructure and near-term public companies seems like a differentiated approach, but how will liquidity be solved?

From the web to mobile by August, and then to the in-house HIP-3 perpetual contracts by year-end, the pace is pretty tight. Asian traders do indeed lack a native, high-performance derivatives platform—if Trasia can seamlessly integrate Hyperliquid’s clearing and matching, the user experience would feel smoother than existing CEXs. The only concern is compliance, since it’s aimed at multiple Asian jurisdictions.

Trasia’s team background is solid. Mable Jiang and Edison Chen are both old acquaintances, and the way they’re likely to approach the Asian market should be reliable.
