This short position finally paid off. $CL was pushed down from 101.27 to 78.9, and the return rate is already +2054.31%. In the morning, a lot of people were still watching for a rebound, thinking it could just grind down from the top, but what I cared about more was the speed of the drop after selling pressure kicked in. Once the buy-side weakened, the structure was already off.

I had already been paying attention to this level earlier. What truly confirmed it was that the rebound couldn’t break above the prior high, and the volume couldn’t keep up. In plain terms, the market wasn’t just drifting down slowly—once funds started actively withdrawing, after short-side room was opened up, the market released its momentum very decisively.

If you currently have positions, don’t just enjoy the gains. Splitting 80/20 and handling them in batches feels better: first lock in most of the profits, and keep a smaller remaining position with a protective level to watch for further extension. For shorts held this far, the worst isn’t earning less—it’s a pullback that disrupts the rhythm.

If you didn’t catch it, don’t rush. Don’t chase shorts, and even more don’t chase positions—wait for a more comfortable next entry level.
