Bai Chuan’s last founding partner has left, and Wang Xiaochuan is betting on AI healthcare alone
The report points this round of resignations to differences in direction. Wang Xiaochuan is narrowing general models and enterprise business, focusing its bets on medical AI; some other co-founders hope to continue investing in general models and AI programming. Baichuan is currently still advancing its medical large model M4 and the family doctor Agent “Baixiaoyi.”
Baichuan previously raised 5 billion yuan, with a valuation of about 20 billion yuan, making it one of the most sought-after domestic large model startups by capital. Now only Wang Xiaochuan remains in the founding team; whether the medical route can succeed is the key test for what comes next at Baichuan.
