With the near release of Moonshot’s Kimi K3, it is expected to surpass Opus 4.8
According to Beating monitoring, the Financial Times reports that Mooming Dark Side (Kimi) plans to release Kimi K3 within the next few days. The model’s parameter scale will range from 2 trillion to 3 trillion, making it the largest AI model in China to date.
Insiders said that, according to mainstream evaluation benchmarks, K3 is expected to surpass the performance of Opus 4.8, but not that of FABLE 5. It will be freely available for download in the form of an “open-weight” model, and will pose a major challenge to U.S. AI labs such as Anthropic and OpenAI.
