Huawei Jin Yuzhi: L3 and L4 scale commercial use is expected to be achieved in 2027 and 2028

Huawei’s senior vice president and Horizon Robotics’ CEO, Jin Yuzhi, said today that autonomous driving development will move through rapid iteration and orderly progress. After L3 pilot programs in selected cities, it is expected that in 2026, low-speed L4 pilots in urban areas will begin. It is expected that in 2027, L3 will achieve large-scale commercial use; in the same year, L4 2B (Robotaxi partial-city pilots) and L4 2C (low-speed L4 in partial cities) will both launch. In 2028, Robotaxi may usher in commercial operations in some cities, with urban-area low-speed L4 large-scale commercial use, urban-area L4 full-speed pilots in some cities, and unmanned trunk logistics pilots all starting in the same year.
