Deep Tide TechFlow news: On July 16, CoinDesk reported that the Linux Foundation officially launched the x402 Foundation. 40 institutions, including Visa, Mastercard, Ripple, and others, became the first members, jointly promoting standards for AI agents to use stablecoins for machine-to-machine payments. The x402 protocol activates the HTTP 402 “Payment Required” code, enabling clients to pay servers small fees directly with stablecoins such as USDC without needing an account or establishing a relationship in advance. In the past 30 days, the protocol handled about 75 million transactions with a total value of about $24 million, averaging about 32 cents per payment, providing infrastructure for AI agents to autonomously complete micro-payments.
