Deep Tide TechFlow message: On July 16, according to CoinDesk, the Linux Foundation officially launched the x402 Foundation. 40 institutions, including Visa, Mastercard, Ripple, and others, became the first members, jointly promoting standards for AI agents to use stablecoins for machine-to-machine payments. The x402 protocol activates the HTTP 402 "Payment Required" code, enabling clients to pay small fees to servers directly using stablecoins such as USDC, without accounts or pre-established relationships. Over the past 30 days, the protocol processed about 75 million transactions with a total value of about $24 million, averaging about 32 cents per payment, providing infrastructure for AI agents to autonomously handle micro-payments.
