Bessent says the “Trump dollar” coins will go into production

Golden Finance reported that on July 16, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent announced on Wednesday that the U.S. Mint will begin striking a one-dollar coin featuring President Trump’s portrait to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
The coin’s obverse bears the words “Liberty,” “In God We Trust,” and “1776-2026,” while the reverse features a bald eagle design from the presidential seal.
The U.S. Treasury said the coin will be minted in Philadelphia and plans to be sold this fall in both roll and bag formats. The Treasury emphasized that although the coin looks like a gold-colored product, it does not contain gold.
