There is a young doctor who treats cancer; some patients don’t have money, and he has paid some of their bills. He is especially, especially kind, and he often helps people.

Later, this young doctor got cancer. Many of the patients he had helped and the ones he had paid for mocked him, saying, “You treated cancer yourself, but you got cancer.”

Watching him get cancer made them very happy, as if it balanced out in their minds. They hoped he would die sooner.
