According to Beating’s monitoring, SpaceXAI announced the open-sourcing of Grok Build and reset all users’ usage limits.

Public materials include the CLI, terminal interface, and Agent runtime source code, released under the Apache 2.0 license.

This open-source release is a programming tool and does not include the Grok 4.5 model. Grok Build still needs to connect to a cloud model to run. The official repository currently also does not accept external code contributions.

Before this decision was published, Grok Build was just revealed to have default-uploaded complete Git repositories. SpaceXAI subsequently adjusted its data retention settings and promised to delete all user data uploaded earlier.
