Golden Finance reported that on July 16, Wednesday, SpaceX (SPCX.O) shares first fell below their IPO offering price. It has been just over a month since the company sparked an investment frenzy, set the record for the largest IPO in history, and made Musk the first trillionaire in the world. SpaceX shares previously hit an all-time high of $225.64—at that peak, the company’s market value briefly surpassed the tech giants Microsoft and Amazon. This pullback is the first time investors who bought the stock at the IPO price are facing paper losses, which could test market confidence in the stock. It also serves as a reminder that even for a company as large as SpaceX, Wall Street enthusiasm can cool off quickly—the company had already raised about $85.7 billion and reached a valuation of around $2.1 trillion by the end of its first trading day.
