US House of Representatives rejects a bill to cut aid to Israel’s military

Golden Finance reported that on July 16, the U.S. House of Representatives rejected a proposal to cut military aid to Israel by a vote of 314 in favor and 104 against, but the vote highlighted that divisions within the Democratic Party over how to support Israel in the United States are continually widening. The amendment was supported by 103 Democratic lawmakers and 1 Republican lawmaker; if it had passed, it would have cut off annual military assistance to Israel worth several billion dollars, though outside observers had previously believed the amendment had almost no chance of becoming law.
