US President Donald Trump will meet with Senators Cynthia Lummis and Bernie Moreno and White House officials on Thursday local time to discuss ethical provisions in crypto legislation, a move seen as an important step forward in advancing the Clarity Act. Kristin Smith, president of the Solana Policy Institute, said the meeting is intended to advise Trump on ethical issues and win his support, calling it an “extremely positive signal.” The Senate is currently seeking to get the Clarity Act approved for a vote before the August recess, and the issue of conflicts of interest arising from Trump and his family’s crypto businesses remains one of the main obstacles in bipartisan negotiations.
