US President Donald Trump will meet with Senators Cynthia Lummis and Bernie Moreno and White House officials on Thursday local time to discuss ethical provisions in crypto legislation, a move seen as an important step in advancing the Clarity Act. Kristin Smith, president of the Solana Policy Institute, said the meeting is intended to offer recommendations to Trump on ethical issues and win his support, calling it “an extremely positive signal.” At present, the Senate is seeking to push for a vote on the Clarity Act before its August recess, while concerns about conflicts of interest arising from Trump and his family’s crypto business remain one of the main obstacles in bipartisan negotiations. Can it be settled before the August recess? It feels like both parties are still bickering.
