JPMorgan Warns: Public Opposition to the AI Data Center Boom Will Affect the Market

Jinse Finance reported that on July 15, Morgan Stanley issued its latest warning, saying that public opposition to the AI infrastructure (data center) boom will affect the market. The firm noted that projects worth about $156B in 2025 were canceled or postponed, and that in just the first quarter of 2026, projects worth $130 billion were affected. Morgan Stanley said: “Resistance to future data center construction will clearly affect the timing and intensity of the capital expenditure cycle—either extending its duration or reducing total investment demand.”
