Indian AI startup Emergent raises $130 million in a Series C round, valuing the company at $1.5 billion

TechFlow message: On July 15, according to TechCrunch, Indian AI programming startup Emergent has completed a $130 million Series C financing round, with a post-money valuation of $1.5 billion—significantly up from its $300 million valuation during its Series B round earlier this January. The round was led by Creaegis, with participation from Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, Y Combinator, and others. The company’s total cumulative funding has increased to $230 million.

Emergent primarily serves entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses, offering an end-to-end AI development platform covering programming, deployment, hosting, testing, and debugging. The company said its annualized revenue run rate has reached $120 million, and it has more than 200k paying customers. This funding will be mainly used to advance product R&D, enhance AI agent workflow capabilities, and expand market outreach, including considering setting up an office in Europe.
